ok i know this is the micro forum but i still wanna post this because naturally there are more SG skaters here. yea its off topic but i wanna say sorry

u see, i actually bought a new pair of this skate called adreno. i guess none of u ppl know of this brand. i actually got it to replace my FR2 which were badly ripped.

inline culture at ECP was having a nice sale there, i was going to get smth like an FR1 or FR2 again but i was pissed cause they told me it was 07 model, not in production. not pissed with them, in fact with micro. Sebas didnt give me any problem except my buckle. so they showed me a model of skate called adreno which was almost totally like rollerblade twister series. real nice and pretty snug fit .(hard boot) i use it to slide.

its a big offer, from regular SGD$358 to SGD$199. so i am really not sure if SGD$199 is a worth it buy. it fits real snug and 1 of the guys working there said they wore it. plz comment.

THIS IS THE ROLLERBLADE TWISTER: (forgot model)

You should have went to hvper(next to 7eleven, facing the beach) and ask whether they could replace the buckle for you.
Not sure whether it would be FOC but they replaced my cuff for free as it was a manufacturing defect that caused it to split.

I remember seeing the adreno black series on sale at around the same price before.. It's supposed to be like a more, economical skate in a sense (kinda like the radius) if i remember correctly

Oh and any chance did you get the price for the r3?

What most important is not the model or the brand and maybe the price(i dunno) but the most important is how well it fits u. u can purchase a 1k sgd skates and it hurts like *toot* but den can get a less than 50SGD skates and it feels super comfortable.

thanks guys i did went to hvper for a look. yea but the seba FR2 is beyond repair. its not the buckle. i had replaced it quite some time ago but the plastic shell is really badly maintained and my foot size grew that i cant wear the skate anymore. seba buckle really bad. it was almost broken when i used it for 2 weeks. it was the same when i was younger in a micro kids skate. the seba is really good like HDS and stuff but yea pity my foot size. i am 13 now and when i got the adreno i was taking the largest size. i am afraid if i need a new skate again, i need to go for custom lol. asian foot sizes for boots are super tiny.

inline culture promotes adreno but if people wore it, well i think its okay. i dont slalom, i am learning slide, currently until korean, so i hope this will last me awhile.

@shadowwinds - what do u refer to for r3? riddel r3 ?

I had used my Seba skates for 2 years plus, but no problem with buckles. Alot skaters too. Except that the liners & Outer Shell detoriate due to sweat, wear and tear from our frequent training and falling.

For your case, could it be the plastic shell (Cuff area) been worn off due to manufacture problem? So the buckle part kept coming out?

Sometimes, using the wrong technique to skate can spoil your skates. EXample: Using & pressing extrememly on outside edge for normal skating will pressurize the ankle area and may cause the buckle to be forced out from the cuff.

I met a skater with the buckle problem too, and I saw it's the cuff area "soften". In the end he changed the cuff, and after that no more problem. If you have changed the cuff before but kept having the problem, then we would'nt know how you use/maintain your skates. Or, the cuff you took have manufactured problem again, we also would'nt know.

It would be great to hear comments on other skates too. Since you had brought Adreno, then there's no point to ask you to go and repair the Seba Skates again. Waste your time too. Maybe after 1 month of using Adreno, we would be able to hear how good and bad is Adreno.

Every brand of skates ain't perfect. There will be advantages and disadvantages. If somebody is telling you that the skates are perfect with no shortcomings, then he/she are sure lying.

To own a pair of skates, it all depends on individual too. You should find something that is suitable for your feet, feet size, body weight, types of skating you are into.

Just a piece from my mind.

Hi..

I'm Shirley, Manager of Team Micro Skate Club, on behalf of Micro Sports Singapore Pte Ltd. Here I would like to apologize for the unnecessary inconvenient caused to you.
I do not know which expert from INLINE CULTURE that provide you with such uncertain informations, I am telling you it is extremly not true.
Yes I agreed that FR1 and FR2 were 2007 models perhaps in the mid 2007. Because of high demand in WORLD WIDE and not to disapoint the skaters, Micro had decided to continue these models till today. Correct me if I am wrong, I cant recalled any Inline Brandings would have such continual models so far.
My apology for the unconsistency of stock supply in the maket. Apparently, the stocks were running low and perhaps all the good sizes were gone. No worry, 40 foots container with closed to 2000pairs of skates will soon to be arrived either in end Jun or early July.
FYI, Micro do not only supply Freestyle skates but we do manufactures series of line for Recreat, Kids, Speed skates and Accessories too.
I can strongly says that SEBA is the best recommanded FREESTYLE skates in the world right now. In term of Performance wise and Price that compatible to quality.
Micro do understand the competitiveness of price point and also concerned those amature players who have interest in Freestyle but not willingly to invest too much on a pair of skate. Therefore, we created
FR-X, cater for freestyle beginner "Slalom and Slider". This NEW ARRIVAL will in the maket soon..

At the price of $199, I cant tell whether it is good buy not but I am pretty sure Fitting and comfort definately is the main priority to concern.
So long you're happy of what you had purchased then is worth it lor..

Precisely due to the nature of discipline style that you are doing- "SLIDE"
I believed no body will guarantee you, how long can a pair of skate do last. So far I never encounter any brand of skate that is 100% for Slide Discipline. In the market we have Hockey, Speed, Figure, Aggro, Leisure and Slalom but no Slide. Execpt SEBA with a sliding plate at the side of the skate, I dare not say is purely for Slide but at least 50% or more. Micro Seba have improved it products to suit players demand [trying very hard]. From a normal Freestyle Skate of Seba High[Red col] to Seba Deluxe with slide plate to enable slider needs then to KSJ and IGOR, lighter skate to enhance better performance.
My apology for those who had purchased the KSJ skate. Due to our less experiment and testing that incurred unforseen technical problem with the skates. FYI, All new series of Micro products which cater for discipline line will undergo a product test by selected country's sakters. In which mean for Singapore is MTS Slalom Captain- Terence Cheung.
Micro accepted the mistake and in fact 1 to 1 exchange the skate or parts for those had problem. Of course 1 to 1 base on the nature of defective.

So I do not understand what exactly big problem you had face with your Seba FR2. Honestly, we have never encouter problem with FR1 and FR2 except Seba deluxe for the Cuff which I had mention Micro is actually replacing it at no charge. If is only buckel then I dont seem a majoy problem as we have parts at all time. You may referred to HVPER SPORT at ECP for after sales service. Hvper Sport is named as Skate Doctor and had doing most of the repairing job for majority of skate company, like World of Sports, Skateline and including Inline Culture etc...

Anyway, thanks for your feedback and support for Micro products.
We looking forwards to provide you with better services.

Regards

thanks ppl. when theres new SEBAs i will get them.

the shell as slalom angel said it might be because of wear and tear. but since i dont get a SEBA, i will get a new pair when my adreno is dead. its not giving me any problems and i am liking the buckle. well my problem with the bad buckle is that it sometimes slides across the ground when i failed. i think i didnt explain that part fully i guess. i started sliding in kids skates before i got FR2, so i am thinking thats y. i am hoping the series will continue so i can get the FR1 again

most new models out there are pretty much copies from the fr series(insider info)...
the best upgrades done to freestyle skating both slides and slalom are done by seba skates. the skate for skaters.
you want to know which skates are better?
look at the skaters. lol.
